So, I generally do the same routine every time I do my makeup. Even if it’s just a mascara look, the base will always be the same. In this post I’ll go through my step-by-step guide on how I reach my final look (bare in mind I only did one eye as I had to be somewhere quite soon after….. fail). I honestly love makeup so much, playing around with it really makes me happy. So, I’m so excited to share my routine with you guys 😁.
Please…. please ignore the state of my room behind me. I’m currently redoing my whole room and in the middle of removing all wallpaper so it’s in a right state!
I have combination skin, the products that work for me may not work for you but I would highly recommend them for my skin tone.
^ This is my bare skin, no prep except for a light exfoliation I do every morning to get ready for the day ahead.
^ I start by using one of my fave ever primers Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer all over my face. This works as both a moisturiser and primer so is great for my dryer area’s. If you don’t have this I’d recommend using a moisturiser before or instead of primer.
^ I then use the Benefit Porefessional Pearl Primer over any areas where my pores look overly enlarged. It’s really good at shrinking pores and adding a nice glow over.
^ Then I go in with foundation. I like to use Estée Lauder Double Wear in the shade Shell. It’s so full coverage I love it 😍.
^ Using a beauty sponge I blend it out all over except for eyelids.
^ This is the amount of coverage I generally like. Full coverage is honestly my saving grace, this foundation hides all sins.
^ Moving on to concealer to hide the lack of sleep. I use Urban Decay All Nighter Concealer. It’s really full coverage and a dream to blend.
^ These are the area’s I apply my concealer. I mainly use it to cover but also to highlight certain area’s. By putting it down the centre of my face it pinches the face in. That’s exactly why I do it.
^ I then blend it out with a beauty sponge too.
^ My concealer all blended out. Still missing out the eyes.
^ Time to set the concealer. I like to use RCMA No Colour Powder and leave it on whilst I do my eyebrows.
^ This is where I put my powder. I leave it on whilst I do my eyebrows. Just pack it on over my concealer so it doesn’t budge or crease.
^ Moving on to my eyebrows. I like to use Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil.
Step 1: brush brow hairs up.
Step 2: draw line to define bottom of brow.
Step 3: fill in brow above the line.
Step 4: brush hairs back to normal position and fill the rest.
Step 5: brush the front of brow to make a hair-stroke appearance.
Step 6: carve out the brows with concealer to get the desired shape.
Step 7: cover the eyelids with concealer.
^ I then move on to bronzer! I use Benefit Hoola Bronzer.
^ this is where I like to contour. I’m sucking my cheeks in here to show the outline that I place it. Right below my cheek bone in the hollows.
^ I also place it at the top of my forehead to really make it appear smaller.
^ After bronzer.
^ Moving on to blush, I use Zoeva Coral Spectrum Blush Palette and mainly the colour I’m pointing at – it’s the one I’m using here.
^ I then smile and put the blush on the apples of my cheek.
^ After blush.
^ the best part… highlight 😁🌟! I love love love Doll Beauty Highlight in Like a Diamond it’s just amazing!
^ Showing where I like to apply – just above my cheekbones and yes, I like to apply a lot 😂!
^ also applying this above my brow bone to give a dewy finish.
^ then using Urban Decay ‘All Nighter’ Setting Spray to finish off that dewy appearance.
^ Moving on to eyes! Starting off with a fluffy crease brush! I’m using the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Palette I’ve out hearts over the colours I’m using.
^ Started by blending the first colour into the crease and blowing it out slightly to get my desired shape.
^ I then used the darker colour in the crease as well blending it into the transition shade but really focusing in the crease.
^ I’ve then used a pencil brush and the even darker colour to really define the crease.
^ Then using the same pencil brush I used the darker colour and made a triangle in the outer corner to define that corner and then blended out.
^ I then use my finger with the shimmery shade (grabs more pigment in my opinion) and apply that to the lid and blending around to make sure it’s smooth together.
^ I then use the same Doll Highlighter I used earlier to highlight the inner corner to define the eyes even more.
There we go. I only did one eye with pictures because I had to really rush the other eye so I do apologise. I added some mascara and lipstick ( Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick – Celebrity Skin) to finish the look.
I love doing this kind of eye, the colours work so well and the palette I use offers so much in that shade range.
I hope you guys enjoyed my makeup routine in pictures, if you did let me know and I’ll possibly show another for a different eye look.
See you in the next one,
